Institute visited by Kim Chaek University of Technology delegation

The delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea included key figures, including Rector, member of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and deputy of the Supreme People’s Assembly Park Ji Min and Head of the Laboratory of Petroleum Eom Il Ryong.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev and Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Industrial Partnerships Ildus Chukmarov. They familiarized the delegation in detail with the activities of the Institute, emphasizing its achievements, scientific research and educational programs.

Danis Nurgaliev presented the results of research conducted at the Institute and discussed current topics and achievements in geology and petroleum science.

Ildus Chukmarov, as the head of the Center for Advanced Training (CdoGEO), spoke about the programs of additional education and retraining. In this context, he noted that in 2023, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation, Oh Cheol Jin, sent a diplomatic note expressing interest in holding an online lecture on the topic of oil and gas exploration and production. The lecture was a success.

The final chord of the meeting was the acquaintance of the rector Park Ji Min with the laboratory facilities of the Institute, which allowed him to evaluate the practical part of the educational process and research work. This visit opened up new horizons for potential cooperation between universities and strengthened ties between educational institutions of the two countries.
