Center for Advanced Training and CUPET draw up plans for 2024
Cuba Petróleo Union representatives – HR Director Tania Pérez Delgado and Head of Training and Development Mario Miranda Márquez – visited on 22 February.
The sides discussed further cooperation. So far, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies has graduated 25 CUPET employees from a master’s program in petroleum engineering. Furthermore, 267 employees received short-term advanced training. KFU’s Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons and Zarubezhneft continue research of catalytic aquathermolysis at Boca de Jaruco oilfiled in Cuba. A third batch of the catalyst and its solvent were shipped in 2023.
Director of the Center for Advanced Training Ildus Chukmarov and the visitors confirmed that three courses are planned for Cuban colleagues in 2024 – Non-Seismic Methods of Hydrocarbon Prospecting (to be held in Kazan) and Technologies of OIl Production on Hard-to-Recover Reservoirs and Operation Management in the Oil Industry.
Dr Chukmarov comments, “This will be a second time when the course in Havana is handled by Senior Research Associate Irek Mukhamatdinov, a recent winner of the Russian Presidential Award for Science and Innovation. He was commended for his work on in-situ refining with catalytic aquathermolysis, including experiments in Cuba. Thus, CdoGEO continues providing support to Cuban people in their path to energy independence and higher quality of life.”
