Center for Advanced Training finishes year with best ever results
In 2023, the Institute’s Center for Advanced Training (CdoGEO) has provided courses to 1,370 persons from 250 companies, including national leaders Rosneft, Gazprom, Surgutneftegaz, Lukoil, and Gazpromneft.
132 programs have been completed in geology, petroleum engineering, geophysics, hydrogeology, surveying, metrology, and other subjects.
Rosneft was the biggest client this year, sending 598 professionals for training. Graduation questionnaires showed a level of satisfaction of 5.4 out of 6.
Two more records were set in the number of students per week, with 101, and the number of students per month – 300.
Among foreign partners, there have been China (8), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (24), and Uzbekistan (3).
Cooperation has continued with traditional partners, such as Mirrico, Zarubezhneft, Geonaft, All-Russian Research Institute of Flow Measurement, TNG Group, and others.
On 31 August, TNG Group’s education and production center opened on the Institute’s premises.
Through the year, CdoGEO has been working on integrating its educational modules with an intra-company system of HR development for Geosynergy. The system includes competence evaluation, educational program analysis, and tools for individualized learning. Some of the modules have been implemented together with local partners.
CdoGEO’s top lecturers include practicing professionals from Mirrico, TNG Group, Eridan, Geonaft, Tatneft, All-Russian Research Institute of Flow Measurement, Gazpromneft, Tatarstan Regional Center for Standardization, and other notable companies of the industry.
As part of its work within the Priority 2030 project, CdoGEO is preparing a soon to be launched ‘1 website for 1 course’ project. Within the Russian Energy Transition (one of KFU’s Priority 2030 strategic projects), CdoGEO offered courses in certification and validation of carbon footprint for Rosneft and low-carbon development for Gazprom.
In 2024, CdoGEO will continue to provide teaching to Cupet, Cuba’s national oil company. Three courses are planned – ‘Non-seismic survey methods’ in Kazan and ‘Recovery technologies for hard-to-recover reservoirs’ and ‘Contemporary operational management in an oil company’ in Havana.
Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences, Institute Director Danis Nurgaliev comments, “CdoGEO is a gateway for the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies in its work with oil and oilfield companies. Apart from teaching, CdoGEO helps in signing cooperation agreements. Industry professionals get acquainted with our labs and technologies and network with our educators. This provides a foundation for further big projects with such partners. This year, the Center has taught a record number of students. The Center’s employees have labored hard to lay ground for 2024, and I see good prospects.”
Director of CdoGEO, Deputy Director of IGPT for Marketing Ildus Chukmarov concludes, “I thank the leadership, the employees and the educators of the University and the Institute – everyone who contributes to our courses. I have to commend the great team of CdoGEO which shows high efficiency despite growing workload and provides high-quality learning process – this is what our students have written in questionnaires this year. We wish everyone health, wellbeing, success and a quality life next year.”
