KFU represented at Gazprom Neft University League Forum in Saint-Petersburg

The League currently comprises 48 universities, including 3 from other countries – one each from UAE, China, and India.
Our Institute was represented at the 2026 Forum by Director of the Small Tonnage Chemical Technology Park Mikhail Varfolomeev, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Andrey Teryokhin, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Gazprom Neft – KFU Center Vladislav Sudakov, and Research Associate Alexey Leontyev.
Dr Teryokhin commented on the content of the forum, “This year’s main trend is AI and systemic changes in ‘university – industry’ cooperation. The key speaker was Head of AI at Yandex Alexander Krainov, who gave an impetus to further discussions. He explained how AI is changing the landscape of the resource industry and what it means for professional training. Among the raised topics were AI in the economy and education, transformation of the higher school in new technological conditions, and evolution of joint postgraduate centers.”
Dr Sudakov noted that Gazprom Neft has many partnerships with universities in creating new programs, labs, and research, “As a part of the forum, a roundtable was held where we offered our solutions for Gazprom Neft – Noyabrskneftegaz in the forecasting of low-resistivity reservoirs. Mr Leontyev was the speaker.”
“We joined panel sessions and the plenary session which touched on the interaction of education, business, and research in the oil industry,” shared Dr Varfolomeev. “There was also a number of meetings. We met with Head of Research and Technology of Gazprom Neft, representatives of the Department of Technological Development of Gazprom Neft, and other employees of the company and its subsidiaries.”
Talks also took place with Tyumen Industrial University and Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University.
