Surgutneftegaz offers paid internships and employment to students
A meeting at the Institute was held on 17 April.
The guests were Chief of Recruitment at the Department of Exploration Alexander Bachurin and Head of Regional Engineering Service of the Combined Expedition of Deep Exploration Drilling Artur Zakharyan.
Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev welcomed the invitees and spoke about IGPT’s projects and facilities, including the Small Tonnage Chemical Technology Park. He was joined by Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Andrey Teryokhin and Deputy Director for Research Pavel Krylov.
Bachurin commented, “We arrived to invite your alumni to Surgutneftegaz. We can offer paid internships at oilfields of Western and Eastern Siberia with further employment as a young recruit, which implies specific benefits and high remuneration. Our new employees can earn 250 – 270 thousand rubles a month.”
He then proceeded to speak about the company, which offers a transparent career path from field work to top positions.
“I graduated with honors from Tyumen State Oil and Gas University in 2009 and started as a drilling assistant, then became a master’s assistant after a year, and then a master after another year. Since 2013, I’ve been the Head of Regional Engineering Service of the Combined Expedition of Deep Exploration Drilling. I have four teams with 83 employees under my supervision,” explained Zakharyan.
The guests then answered the students’ questions.
