Breakout session in petroleum science held as part of OIC Scientific Youth Congress
The event took place on 27 – 28 November.
The session attracted young researchers from Russia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Nigeria.
During the first day, KFU’s Junior Research Associate Ameen Al-Muntaser presented his report, and the participants toured the Geological Museum and the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons’ laboratories.
The second day featured presentations in front of an expert commission. Session organizer, Deputy Director of IGPT for Research Anton Kolchugin notes, “All the works were about petroleum engineering and energy. The majority was dedicated to non-traditional and viscous oils, hard-to-recover reserves, sequestration, catalysis, alternative energy sources, and greenhouse gases.”
In conclusion, the two best reports were chosen – by Amir Hassan (Pakistan) and Fazaletdin Ismailov (Uzbekistan).
