Institute’s projects discussed in Dzerzhinsk

A joint meeting of members of the Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Dzerzhinskkhimregion and representatives of leading universities and research institutes of the Republic of Tatarstan was held in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. At the initiative of the Science and Technology Foundation of Tatarstan, representatives of the leading universities of Tatarstan were invited to the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Ivan Noskov, Mayor of Dzerzhinsk, and Dmitrii Ogorodtsev, General Director of Okapol. Heads of industrial enterprises of Nizhny Novgorod Olbast and representatives of scientific institutions participated in the meeting. The agenda of the meeting included topical issues in the field of chemical research.

Representing the Republic of Tatarstan, Timur Khalitov, Director of the Science and Technology Foundation of the Republic of Tatarstan, made a welcoming speech to the participants of the event. The researchers of the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons then took the floor. Among them was Director of the Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry Andrei Karasik, Professor of the Department of Organic and Medical Chemistry of KFU Igor Antipin, Lead Research Associate of the Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery of KFU Roman Pavelyev, and Head of the Research Department of Kazan National Research Technological University Ilfar Gilmutdinov.

Kazanian scientists reported on current developments in chemistry. Roman Pavelyev shared the results of research on the chemistry of polymers and low molecular weight compounds as oilfield reagents.

“Representatives of various companies showed interest in our research. We discussed further prospects of business interaction with existing partners. It is worth noting that colleagues from Dzerzhinsk were very interested in the import substitution trend,” said Roman Pavelyev.

The parties paid special attention to the most acute problems of the industry, such as the purchase of necessary materials on the international market, which has become a sensitive issue in the current political climate.

“Based on the results of the meeting, a register of specialists will be formed to address certain issues, and a list of stated problems of each company will be spelled out. Import-substituting technologies of KFU scientists capable of saving costs for industrial partners, will also be included in this register,” Roman Paveliev noted.
