Institute visited by students of the Preparatory School
More than 30 young people from China, Chad, Indonesia, Ecuador, Cameroon and other countries visited IGPT on April 17.
They were welcomed by Andrey Teryokhin, Deputy Director of IGPT for Educational Activities, and Yury Nurmeev, International Admissions Coordinator. The group was accompanied by Gulsiyar Muratova, Senior Lecturer of the Preparatory School.
Teryokhin told the guests in detail about the bachelor’s and master’s programs of IGPT – geology and petroleum engineering. The Deputy Director emphasized that specialization in geology starts after three semesters of study – this allows students to determine their preferences and to choose their future profession more responsibly.
One of the unconditional advantages of the Institute mentioned by the speaker is a wide range of employment opportunities. Among the partners of IGPT are the largest companies of the industry – Rosneft, Tatneft, Lukoil, Gazpromneft, TNG-Group and many others, including such international partners as CUPET and PetroChina. Employers are always glad to see Institute graduates in their ranks. This is not least due to the leading positions in the world rankings. In particular, Dr Teryokhin informed the audience that KFU is 38th in the world in the newest QS subject rankings in petroleum engineering. This testifies to the high – and growing – level of teaching and research at IGPT.
Having asked their questions, the participants of the meeting went on a tour of the laboratories of the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons. They were introduced to the Center’s work by its employees – Richard Djimasbe, Rahim Ullah, Firdaws Aliev, and Dmitry Yemelyanov. The future students visited the Laboratory of In-Situ Combustion and the Laboratory of Catalytic Aquatermolysis, where they could get acquainted with the cutting-edge research they could soon join – should they choose to enroll in IGPT.
