Institute popularizes its programs at nationwide job fair

The organizers of the event, which took place on the premises of Kazan University, were the university itself and the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The fair, which was held on 18 April in all the provinces of the Russian Federation, is a part of the People of Labor subproject of the Personnel federal project.

“Today’s fair was visited by hundreds of schoolchildren, students of colleges and universities of Kazan. We together with our students told high school and vocational college graduates how to enter our institute to become successful and happy people,” commented Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Continuing Education and Work with Industrial Partners. “As for university students, the Center for Advanced Training (CdoGEO) has a number of retraining programs for them. We explained to representatives of different specialties, including lawyers, business analysts, designers, programmers, that after receiving additional education in our center, they will be able to work in their main specialty in oil and gas companies. Students of our institute also came up to us and asked questions about studying in the master’s program and courses, which was also very pleasant. Usually we hold such meetings for them in the assembly hall. Not everyone dares to ask something there. But here we had an opportunity to talk individually and answer all the questions.”

Ainur Galeev, junior year student of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, is studying at the bachelor’s degree program in Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, and after graduation he plans to enter the master’s program in Geology and Geochemistry of Oil and Gas.

“Here I learned that in parallel with the basic education it is possible to get additional education in CdoGEO,” the young man shared. “I was interested in the retraining program in the oil and gas industry”.

Syumbel Ayazova, a student of Kazan Petrochemical College, plans to enroll in a higher education program.

“After college I would very much like to study at KFU,” the yong woman informed. “The students here told me about the majors. I was most interested in the geology and development of oil and gas fields program.”

Chemistry student Bogdan Noskov also learned about continuing education opportunities provided by CdoGEO.

“I haven’t decided yet which field of chemistry I prefer,” said Bogdan. “But it would be great to have training in oil and gas as well! Perhaps in the future I will decide to choose a career in oil refining.”

Overall, about 3,000 jobs were advertised by local employers at the fair, with young people being able to learn more details in person from HR representatives.
