Institute visited by representatives of Gazprom Neft and Norilskgazprom

The delegation included representatives of Norilskgazprom – Artyom Ganin, Head of the Gas Recovery Enhancement and Well Workover Department, and Yerali Kanlybaev, Head of the Engineering and Technological Section of said department; Ramil Bariev, Head of the Business Opportunities Management Division of Nefteservice Solutions LLC; and employees of Gazpromneft STC LLC – Product Development Project Manager Yan Dolgikh and experts Georgy Scherbakov and Andrey Maltsev.
They were met by Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, Director of the Small Tonnage Chemical Technologies Park Mikhail Varfolomeev, Deputy Director of the Institute for Research Pavel Krylov, Deputy Director of the Institute for Academic Affairs Andrey Teryokhin, and others.
Dr Nurgaliev told the guests about Kazan University: its structure, growth points of innovative development, main educational programs and projects.
Then the scientists of reported on the preliminary results of scientific research they are conducting for the companies. Ildar Mannanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, presented the project “Desk research related to the study of the development object and factors affecting the deterioration of well bottomhole zone properties”.
Alexey Malakhov, Researcher of the Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery, informed about the activities of his laboratory and implemented projects; special attention was paid to the technologies of bottomhole formation zone treatment and application of systems with foaming agents.
“I told about our research on selection of foam-acid systems. To assess their efficiency we use methods of modeling reservoir conditions and 3D computer tomography,” said Malakhov.
Then there was a discussion of the details of the project implemented by the Institute employees, one of the main tasks of which is to analyze the reasons for the decrease in productivity of gas wells and find a solution to this problem.
“As part of cooperation with our contractor Gazprom Neft, we have a research on the basis of Kazan University. We have come to familiarize ourselves with its interim results. In particular, representatives of KFU are working on the selection of chemistry for bottom-hole zone treatment, including salt dissolution and salt deposition. We were presented the results of theoretical studies, which we were very satisfied with, the next stage – laboratory studies and pilot works,” commented Yerali Kanlybaev.
After the meeting, the guests familiarized themselves with the laboratory complex of IGiNGT, including visits to the Laboratory of Hydrate Technologies of Utilization and Storage of Greenhouse Gases and the Laboratory of Organic Matter Geochemistry.
In the afternoon, the delegation representatives met with Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Continuing Education and Industrial Partnerships, Head of the Center for Advanced Training. The talk was about retraining and professional development of the companies’ employees.
