Mikhail Varfolomeev named Scientist of the Year at provincial ceremony

Scientific Breakthrough of Tatarstan award show was held on 11 February as part of Russian Science Day proceedings.

Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave out commendations.

While receiving the title, Chair of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, member of the Russian Presidential Council for Science and Education said, “It is an honor for me to be a scientist here, in Tatarstan. Tatarstan has become a center of attraction for talented young people and researchers. There are many relevant programs. We as scientists really feel the attention and appreciate all the support. I want to thank the university leadership and Rector Lenar Safin. The university npw provides such infrastructure and opportunities that really allow for developing ideas into real products.”

The winner also expressed gratitude to his mentor, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, and his team.
