Graduate student Anton Fedotov commended at Rosneft seminar
Anton Fedotov was first in the Technology and Techniques of Oil and Gas Extraction section.
193 young professionals from 15 subsidiaries of Rosneft, Russia’s oil powerhouse, competed to become the best. They pitched projects in various aspects of oil and gas production.
Mr Fedotov comments, “I am a student at the Department of Petroleum Engineering. As part of my research and studies, I deal with protecting downhole equipment from complications, such as emulsion, corrosion, and viscous oils. My supervisor is Associate Professor Sergey Dolgikh.”
The winner spoke about his protective technique comprising a method of constant dosing of chemicals at the pump intake using a capillary tube. The technique reduces instances of regular maintenance and chemical treatment and decreases oil viscosity twofold.
The winners of the local competition will move to the finals in Moscow. There, best projects will be recommended for implementation at Rosneft.
