KFU scientists share vision of the future at Tatneft: Past, Present, and Future Conference in Almetyevsk

The event was held at TatNIPIneft to celebrate Tatneft’s 75th anniversary.

The participants were greeted by General Director of Tatneft Nail Maganov and Director of TatNIPIneft Andrey Pimenov.

Our Institute was represented by Chair of the Department of Mineralogy and Lithology Anton Kolchugin and Professor of said department Vladimir Morozov.

Dr Kolchugin shared, “My report was titled Specifics of Sediment Genesis and Secondary Changes of Oil-Bearing Carbonate Rocks of the Bashkir and Serpukhov Stages of the Southeast of Tatarstan.” As Devonian layers are depleted, the concentration of future oil production should shift to those objects. And, of course, Bashkir and Serpukhov rocks have their specifics. These deposits are rather complex. They are often small-scale, and their development requires using a number of enhanced recovery technologies. I spoke about relevant research and prospects in this regard.”

Dr Morozov shed light on sedimentation specifics of Domanik formations, which are widely present in Tatarstan but not yet developed. The development of non-traditional resources of the shale formation of the Upper Devonian, said the scientist, is the future of the oil industry in our province.
