Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies represented at the Companion Event of the Congress of Young Scientists
The conference was organized at Perm State University of Humanities and Pedagogy on 4 – 6 October.
Among the topics were environmental issues of the Kama Region, regional infrastructure, synergy between education and the industry, and new energy sources.
Four workgroups comprising experts from various fields were formed, and each group was to defend its own project in the technological development of Perm Krai. Head of the Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Extraction Mikhail Varfolomeev and Senior Research Associate Irek Mukhamatdinov offered new approaches to the processes of the oil industry.
“We presented the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons’ project to Governor of Perm Krai Dmitry Makhonin, including solution in chemistry, digitization, equipment, testing, and research. We then toured the Polazna oilfield and saw the oilfield equipment owned by LUKOIL-Perm,” comments Dr Mukhamatdinov.
According to Dr Varfolomeev, the Governor and industrial partners were content with what KFU has to offer and plan to commission the University’s services.
The 3rd Congress of Young Scientists will be held on 28 – 30 November in Sirius Federal Territory.
