Delegation of Shandong Province education officials and academics tours KFU
The meeting was joined by Deputy Head of the Department of International Affairs of the Provincial Party Committee of Shandong Sun Yebao, Head of the Europe and Asia Section of said department Ji Caiyun, Deputy Head of said section Ji Dandan, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of Dezhou University Du Yali, Director of Herzen International Institute of Arts of Shandong Normal University Liu Dongfeng, Secretary of the China-Russia International Education and Cooperation Union Jing Linpan, and General Secretary of the China-Russia International Education and Cooperation Union Wang Hui. KFU was represented by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and International Cooperation Officer of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies Yury Nurmeev.
The sides discussed possible points of mutual interest with Dezhou University and Shandong Normal University, including student exchange, double diploma programs, and KFU’s Summer University project, set this year from 21 July to 3 August.
Dr Alishev noted that almost 20 percent of KFU students are future teachers, “The University is among the top 100 in the world in the QS Rankings in education. In May, we are organizing one of the biggest teacher education conferences. We are interested in inviting Shandong Normal University representatives, even more so because one of the sessions is going to be dedicated to teacher education in China.”
Kazan University has very fruitful cooperation ties with Shandong Province. There is a double diploma program with China University of Petroleum; there are currently 4 students from CUP in their second year studying at KFU. Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine runs a preparatory course of Russian language in partnership with KFU’s Preparatory School. There is a cooperation agreement with Shandong University.
In conclusion, Dr Alishev presented Sun Yebao with a 220th KFU anniversary book, and the guests in return gave the Vice-Rector several gifts. The visit continued with a tour of museums.
