The team was headed by Dean of the School of International Education of GUST Liang Xuehong and accompanied by Director of KFU’s International Office Olga Vershinina.
The guests were welcomed by Deputy Director for Marketing of our Institute, Director of the Center for Advanced Training Ildus Chukmarov, who showed them the 3D Geo Center and spoke about the Institute’s history and the Center for Advanced Training”s cooperation with China, now spanning over seven years. Since 2021, there have been over 100 Chinese students at the Center. He also talked about short courses and internships and invited GUST employees to the Center to study.
“We offer on-site, off-site, mixed formats, as well as internships, summer schools, and field classes. The majority of our lecturers can provide instruction in English. Among our most popular curricula are geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, hydrogeology, metrology, surveying, and others,” said the Deputy.
The guests then proceeded to the Laboratory of Isotopic and Element Analysis, the Laboratory of X-Ray Computer Tomography, and the Laboratory of Geomechanics.
“A group of teachers from the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology is interning at KFU at this moment. GIST is developing rapidly, and this particular group comprises representatives of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering. The colleagues are spending two weeks with us, with the bulk of the internship taking place at the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering of Kazan Federal University,” informed Ms Vershinina.
“We liked this tour very much. It was especially interesting to hear about the history, teaching methodology, and labs,” concluded Liang Xuehong. He added that it was his second visit to KFU, while all the colleagues were here for a first time.
