Timur Zakirov wins Best Young Scientist in Tatarstan 2024 award

Three other KFU employees also received commendations.

The competition is available for individuals of various age brackets – 30 or below for applicants without a PhD degree, 35 or below for PhDs, and 40 or below for DSc (second doctorate) degree.

Chair of the Department of Mathematical Methods in Geology Timur Zakirov showcased his software kit for the modeling of oil extraction. It’s more advanced than international competitors.

Best PhD candidates in natural sciences are Anna Timofeeva (Junior Researcher, Laboratory of Gene and Cell Technology) and Andrey Sokolov (Junior Researcher, Laboratory of Ultrafast Calorimetry).

Finally, Galina Kalinina was placed third in the best young scientist in social studies and humanities nomination. She is an associate professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.

The competition is organized by the Tatarstan Movement of Young Scientists and Specialists and funded by Tatneft.
