Geologist Day celebrated at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies

Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences, congratulated the students. He shared memories of his student internships and expeditions.
“A geologist is a special person because he looks at nature with different optics,” he noted. “Any piece of land has everything, just in very small quantities – gold, diamonds, meteorites, rare earth metals.”
The most interesting thing in life, Nurgaliev said, is traveling. He advised the young geologists to travel more, learn the world and enjoy life.
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Continuing Education and Industrial Partnerships, Head of the Center for Additional Education, Quality Management and Marketing, reminded how important it is to have a good education.
“A profession is something with the help of which a person will spend a lifetime extracting resources for himself and his family just as roots extract nutrients for the trunk, branches, leaves and fruits of a tree. Build a successful trajectory for your professional and personal life, and improve your professional skills. CdoGEO will help you in this!” he said.
The program of the celebration included arts numbers and video presentations prepared by the freshmen. The culmination was a fascinating quest that allowed future geologists to dive depeer into the profession.
“The Geologist Day in our institute was bright and fun,” shared freshwoman Victoria Trubochnikova. “I especially liked the idea of video vids presented by student groups. Each one was unique and reflected the specifics of the group and its atmosphere. These videos allowed us to get to know each other better. When the viewing was over, a fascinating quest dedicated to the history of the institute was waiting for us. The tasks were related to geological topics.”
