Professor Rafail Lukmanov congratulated on 70th birthday

Doctor of Science in Geology and Mineralogy, Professor of the Department of General Geology and Hydrogeology celebrated his birthday on November 15.

“We wish that luck, success and inspiration are your faithful companions in all your endeavors, and health and well-being – in your daily life. as well as perseverance and patience in solving everyday tasks,” said his coworkers in a congratulatory address.

For over 30 years, Dr Lukmanov worked at the Department of Geological Survey of Tatneft, one of Russia’s largest oil companies. He headed many survey expeditions which turned out to uncover supplies of underground freshwater in the province. Under Lukmanov’s guidance, many projects on wastewater treatment for oil refineries and chemical plants were completed. He also surveyed mineral waters in Tetyushi District in the south in Tatarstan – which is now a major supplier of this product.

Since 2009, the Professor has been employed at our Institute and has trained generations of geologists and engineers. His body of work comprises over 100 papers, 5 monographs, and 1 patent.

Among his accolades are Engineer of the Year in Russia award, Badge of Honor for the Excellence in Resource Exploration, and certificates of merit from Tatneft and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
