Institute toured by Rector of Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev

He met with Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev.
They were joined by the Official Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Kazakhstan Denis Valeev and Director of the International Office of KFU Timirkhan Alishev.
The Vice-Rector informed about the achievements of KFU, emphasizing that the university ranks 35th in the QS Petroleum Engineering subject rankings. He also presented the scientific and educational activities of IGPT, where 14 Kazakhstani nationals are currently studying. Danis Nurgaliev specifically noted that the Institute has created a very powerful system of advanced training.
“Kazakh National University is one of the best universities in the former Soviet countries,” said Dr Nurgalyev. “I informed the Rector about activities. It turned out that we have common scientific interests in geography, geology, ecology, paleontology, and climate. Zhanseit Tuimebayev was especially keen to know more about our work in limnology and studies of the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan. I received an invitation from him to visit Almaty in June for a more detailed discussion of our possible cooperation.”
Dr Tuimebayev then toured the Institute’s labs.
