Vladislav Sudakov contibutes to Big Conference on Field Development in Moscow

Deputy Director for Marketing at the Gazpromneft-KFU Center and Head of the Laboratory of Carbon Dioxide Utilization in Underground Natural Reservoirs visited the event on 1st and 2nd October.

The event covered current issues in the development of complex and mature fields, methods for enhancing oil and gas recovery, the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in development, and much more.

Vladislav Sudakov spoke at the plenary session, which discussed the transition to the concept of “intelligent development,” as well as at the session Usage of Modeling Tools.

“At the plenary session, we discussed the collaboration of businesses, universities, and the government to achieve technological leadership in the oil and gas industry. In particular, it was emphasized that universities must align their priorities with the challenges of oil companies. This is essential for companies to find scientists’ research valuable. The government is interested in stimulating precisely this type of development,” he stated.

Dr Sudakov noted that universities play a key role in the innovation process.

“It is universities, with state support, that are developing completely new technologies based on fundamental research,” explained the KFU representative. “Business partners, convinced that research developments meet their challenges, often continue to develop them with us and express a willingness to co-finance them.”

Vladislav Sudakov’s presentation at the session was titled Artificial Intelligence in Oil and Gas: Challenges of Transformation and Real-World Case Studies.

“I spoke about the relevance and challenges of implementing solutions using artificial intelligence and presented the developments of scientists from the Institute,” the scientist explained.

The discussions, which involved representatives from the Russian Ministry of Energy, companies, research and development centers, universities, and technology startups, resulted in the development of concrete solutions for the technological development of the industry.
