KFU represented at Oil and Gas Forum 2025 at Gubkin University in Moscow

The event, which was supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, brought together more than 1,500 scientists, industry workers, and students.
The key events of the forum were: the session “Energy Strategy of Russia: Experience of Interdepartmental Implementation of Key Projects of the Fuel and Energy Complex”, the 79th International Youth Scientific Conference “Oil and Gas – 2025”, the IV International Programming Championship “Digital Oil”, the XVIII All-Russian Scientific and Technical Conference “Actual Problems of Development of the Oil and Gas Complex of Russia”, the V Moscow International Forum “Energy Security. Eurasian scenario”, as well as the session ‘Importance and relevance of youth initiatives in the fuel and energy complex as a tool to improve the competitiveness of the industry’. At the meeting, the experience of Kazan University was presented by Mikhail Varfolomeev, Director of the Small Tonnage Chemistry Technology Park.
The participants of the event also included: Alexander Slavinsky, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas; Antony Shvindt, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Commission for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation; Andrey Kotelnikov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Assistant Director of the United Institute of High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“Within the framework of the session, we discussed in detail the prospects of training engineering personnel for the fuel and energy complex, including the discussion of attracting applicants and students to this sphere,” said Dr Varfolomeev. “Special attention was paid to the support of youth initiatives and implementation of youth scientific projects. In addition, an important aspect of the conversation was the discussion of the national goal of technological leadership and the format of successful interaction of young personnel with business. I told about the experience of Kazan Federal University in creating a complete chain of product and technology development, as well as the implementation of joint educational programs with oil and gas companies and the creation of scientific and educational centers with the participation of industrial partners of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.”
