Cooperation discussed with Gazprom VNIIGAZ

Employees of the Center for Corrosion Monitoring and Prevention of Gazprom’s main research division have visited the Institute.

Among them were Head of the Center Dmitry Zapevalov, Head of the Laboratory of Atmospheric and Internal Corrosion Prevention Ruslan Vagapov, and Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Analysis and Prognosis of Corrosion Prevention Systems Dmitry Mansurov.

They were met by Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, Deputy Director of IGPT for Academic Affairs Andrey Teryokhin, Deputy Director of IGPT for Research Pavel Krylov, Deputy Director for Marketing of Gapromneft-KFU Center Vladislav Sudakov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering Sergey Dolgikh.

Dr Nurgaliev spoke about the University and the Institute, mentioning the recent 220th anniversary. Dmitry Zapevalov noted that KFU’s approach is based on systemic research and high professionalism of its employees, which is conducive to productive cooperation. The sides discussed education, advanced training and other issues. The guests then proceeded to tour the laboratories of the Institute.

The vice-rector noted, “We have extensive experience of cooperation with Gazprom enterprises. Gazprom VNIIGAZ employees are interested in corrosion prevention research. We were glad to talk to them about our capabilities. I think we can start collaborating in this area of interest in the nearest time. Hopefully, not only representatives of IGPT, but also KFU physicists, mathematicians, and chemists can join.”
