2023 graduates receive diplomas
190 bachelor and 96 master diplomas were given to fresh alumni on 12 July.
They were congratulated by Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences, Institute Director Danis Nurgaliev.
“I remember how a few years ago, as freshmen, you came to the institute confused and a little scared. And I was like that myself in your years! In September it will be 50 years since I enrolled in the Geological Faculty. And today you have become specialists, but we are not saying goodbye, because many of you will go on to graduate school, post-graduate studies, and those who will be employed at enterprises will definitely come to our reunions. We have a motto – we graduate successful and happy people! I wish that your work brings you satisfaction, joy and prosperity. Let each of you have a strong and loving family, to which you will be happy to return after work. And most importantly, be healthy, and then you will be able to realize all your goals and dreams!” he said.
First Deputy Director, Head of the Center for Advanced Training (CdoGEO) Ildus Chukmarov added, “Dear students, I congratulate you on the successful completion of such an important stage of your life! The profession you have received here will allow you to build a successful trajectory of your personal and professional life. And in order to constantly develop in your specialty and move up the career ladder, come back to your native Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies for advanced training. In case you want to learn a new specialty, come for professional retraining.”
Deputy Director for Internships and Employment Andrey Teryokhin had this to say, “I wish you at this stage of life to choose the right path, to be ambitious and not to be afraid of failure. The experience gained here will allow you to overcome all difficulties and become successful and happy people.”
After the ceremony and many warm exchanges, graduate Anna Shevelyova shared, “An important stage in our lives has come to an end – it is the completion of our bachelor’s degree. These were the best years that gave us friends and invaluable experience. Institute is not only about studying. It is science, sports, social activity and all this unites our favorite faculty. The Institute gives great opportunities in employment. Our students can easily find jobs in leading Russian and foreign companies. This confirms that the knowledge and experience we get here are in demand by employers.”
Graduates of CdoGEO also received their additional training certificates, including those in petroleum industry translation and mining explosion techology.
Bulat Kamalov was one of those who got both certificates, “I am very glad that I underwent professional retraining and received a diploma of interpreter in addition to my main profession. What is important is that the classes were face-to-face and the teachers were native speakers. We studied grammar and spoken language. The preparation for the exams was very serious and intensive. Thanks to the training, I have increased my vocabulary of professional terminology and I can communicate more easily. I am sure that my language skills will be useful in TNG Group, as the company cooperates with foreign enterprises and conducts a number of foreign projects.”
